Innovative Infill and Adaptive Reuse
Nestled into a thriving residential neighbourhood, this 2.1 hectare site operated as a community public school for over fifty-years. Zoned residential, the property is well positioned to support a more intensive use of the through a creative, thoughtful and well planned infill development.
The architectural relationship of the site to the neighbourhood is critically important; and the existing, beloved school is a part of the historical fabric of the larger community.
MORe is currently working with the property owners to create a master plan for the property that uses a holistic lens of creating social, economic and environmental well being for future occupants while seeking compatibility with the established neighbourhood.
Through the adaptive reuse of the school building, the architectural language of the street is maintained. The school also creates unique residential offerings that re-purpose existing interiors inclusive of amenity spaces.
